Basic Life Support Renewal Course (BLS Renewal)

Standard First Aid Recertification

BLS Provider Renewal course is a fast-paced course designed for experienced healthcare providers; covering single-rescuer and multi-rescuer basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics. The course is best suited to healthcare providers who use BLS skills regularly and therefore require limited practice to be successful.

Emergency First Aid Course

The Medical Terminology course provides an introduction to the professional language used by those who are directly and indirectly involved with the art of healing. The course will also introduce those not currently involved in the health care environment with an introduction to the language of medicine. In addition, the program will provide participants with the basics of human anatomy and physiology. 


Stop the Bleed

First Responder

Stop the Bleed is an initiative of the American College of Surgeons and the Hartford Consensus that provides civilian bystanders the skills and basic tools to stop uncontrolled bleeding in an emergency situation and save lives.


EKG

First Responder (FR to EMR bridge)

This course is designed for health care professionals with a requirement to learn and/or review basic ECG interpretation in preparation for a Heart and Stroke ACLS course and/or work in a clinical environment. Content includes related anatomy and physiology, components of the cardiac cycle, arrhythmias, therapies and electrical treatment.


Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Course

CPR Training and AED Training

After completion of this course, participants will have the knowledge and skills to apply the lifesaving skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and proper techniques used for a choking adult, child or baby. This CPR/AED course meets worker safety and insurance board provincial/territorial legislation.


Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Recertification)

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Recertification) Open to students who have a current BLS and ACLS. A valid BLS is required upon arrival at the course. Exceptions may be made for those who have expired ACLS certificates and are made on a case by case basis. Students have to obtain permission from the course instructor to attend.


Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course Ontario

The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider course enables healthcare professionals to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to better recognize and treat critically ill infants and children. The course materials are scenario-based, and a team approach is used to teach emergency management of pediatric patients approaching or already in respiratory or cardiac arrest, from the early minutes through patient stabilization and/or the transport phases of a pediatric emergency, in or out of the hospital.

Cannabis in the Workplace: Training for Workers aims to give employees the best possible understanding of the differences between medical and recreational cannabis, their responsibilities when using medical cannabis in the workplace, and employer responsibilities. This course explains the laws relating to human rights legislation and the duty to accommodate employees who have medical authorization to use cannabis.

WHMIS 2015 Online is based on the current 2015 legislation and meets the legislated requirement for general WHMIS training. Employers must also provide workplace-specific training and instruction for each of the hazardous products in the workplace.

Psychological First Aid - Self Care

This online course assists learners in developing a personal understanding of the effects of stress, loss, trauma and grief, with emphasis on self-care and personal protection. Learners will be introduced to the Red Cross Look, Listen, Link, Live model and will learn how to cope with the effects of various types of stress. This course can also be taken in combination with the Red Cross Caring for Others online course to supplement and strengthen an overall psychosocial wellness program.
