Why Choose First Aid Plus?

Why Choose First Aid Plus?

More Than a Certification. Training You Can Rely On.

When it comes to first aid and emergency response, completing a course is only the beginning. At First Aid Plus, we believe you should leave your training with more than a certificate ; you should leave prepared to respond.

We are a Canadian-owned, veteran-owned first aid and emergency training company serving Ottawa, Gatineau, Nepean, and surrounding communities. Our team combines professional emergency-response experience, military experience, healthcare knowledge, and hands-on instruction to create training that prepares you for real situations.

Veteran-Owned. Experience-Driven.

First Aid Plus is proud to be veteran-owned, with many members of our instructional team having backgrounds in the Canadian Armed Forces and other emergency-response professions.

Our instructors bring experience from fields including:

  • Canadian Armed Forces

  • Paramedicine

  • Nursing

  • Firefighting

  • Healthcare administration

  • Emergency response

This experience shapes how we teach. We understand that emergencies are unpredictable, stressful, and often require people to act quickly.

Our goal is to turn training into practical readiness.

Train in a Realistic Simulation Environment

Reading about an emergency is different from experiencing one.

First Aid Plus has access to a dedicated simulation training environment where participants can practise their skills using realistic equipment and scenarios.

Our training environment includes:

  • Advanced training mannequins

  • CPR and resuscitation equipment

  • Medical and trauma simulation equipment

  • An ambulance

  • Scenario-based training environments

  • Equipment used to practise hands-on emergency skills

This allows participants to move beyond theory and practise the physical skills they may need in an actual emergency.

You don't just learn what to do. You practise doing it.

We Believe in Your Success

At First Aid Plus, our responsibility does not end when the classroom portion of a course is finished.

We believe in our students' success.

Our objective is to ensure that participants who complete their certification have the knowledge and practical skills necessary to respond appropriately within the scope of their training.

That means developing both:

Intellectual Knowledge

You need to understand:

  • How to recognize an emergency

  • What steps to take

  • Why those steps matter

  • How to assess a situation

  • When and how to seek additional help

  • How to respond safely and appropriately

Physical Skills

Knowing the theory is not enough.

You also need to be able to physically perform the skills you have learned, including appropriate techniques for CPR, patient care, bleeding control, assessment, and other emergency interventions relevant to your course.

We train both the mind and the hands.

Hands-On Training for Real-World Situations

Our courses are designed to encourage participation, practice, and questions.

Rather than simply listening to an instructor, participants have opportunities to:

  • Practise techniques on training mannequins

  • Work through realistic scenarios

  • Use emergency equipment

  • Develop confidence performing essential skills

  • Receive feedback from instructors

  • Ask questions about situations they may encounter

  • Repeat skills until they understand how to perform them correctly

Our instructors work to create an environment where participants can learn, practise, make mistakes, ask questions, and improve.

Training for Your Environment

A childcare provider, construction worker, teacher, athlete, healthcare professional, military member, office employee, or parent may encounter very different situations.

We want to build long-term relationships with the organizations and communities we serve.

A Local, Canadian, Veteran-Owned Business

We are proud to be Canadian-owned, veteran-owned, and locally operated.

Don't Just Get Certified. Get Prepared.

A certificate shows that you completed your training.

Our goal is for you to leave knowing what to do, and having practised how to do it.

At First Aid Plus, we believe successful training combines knowledge, hands-on practice, realistic simulation, experienced instructors, and confidence.

Because when an emergency happens, there is no textbook in front of you.

There is you.

And we want you to be ready.
