Course by Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada

Course Description: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Blended (ACLS Blended) Course by Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada combines two learning formats: self-paced, online learning and 10 hours in classroom learning format. The curriculum is divided into parts, allowing you to learn and acquire ACLS skills at your own pace in accordance with your preferred learning style. After finishing the online part of the course, participants can take the instructor-led, in-classroom component when they are ready.

This course will help develop clinical skills through simulated situations that mirror real-life cardiac-related emergencies where healthcare workers must apply their learning to save lives. These simulations will involve high-quality CPR, high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes. Participants will be able to reinforce concepts, undertake skills practice, receive coaching and correction, and refine their abilities before final testing.

Great course, great teacher

It was a really difficult course for those of us with no critical care experience -- make sure you study lots before you take the Pre-test and Online portion, let alone the in-class!
That being said, Ricardo was an excellent instructor and made us all feel very supported and ready for any situation. Such an amazing facility they have there, with the newest Simulation technology - I was very impressed!

ACLS Blended Course

So far I have only completed the online portion of this course, my in class learning isn't until next month. I have really enjoyed being able to do some of this course online. I am able to learn at my own pace. Review sections that I need more review in and spend less time on sections that I don't need a lot of review. I look forward to the in class portion but so far, I am really impressed with the online portion.
