Emergency First Responder Course - Ontario (First Responder to Emergency First Responder Bridge Course - FR to EMR Bridge with BLS)
Course Description: If you have a passion for becoming a first responder, look no further than this comprehensive course designed just for you! By enrolling in this program, participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in cutting-edge dynamic training techniques. Intended Audience: This course is open to a wide range of professionals including those in fire services, rescue teams, workplace response teams, sports medicine professionals, lifeguards, and ski patrol. Everyone ages 16 and over.
Course Prerequisites: Participants must have a First Responder certification.

The emergency medical responder bridge course will cover the following topics:
- The Professional Responder
- Responding to the call
- Infection prevention and control
- Anatomy and physiology
- Airway management and respiratory emergencies

- Hemorrhage and soft tissue trauma
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Chest, abdominal and pelvic injuries
- Head and spinal injuries
- Acute and chronic illnesses
- Environmental illnesses
- Pregnancy, labour, and delivery

- Crisis intervention
- Reaching, lifting, and extricating patients
- Multiple-casualty incidents
- Includes any other content required by specific legislation
40 hours (1 week)
