Marine Basic First Aid (MBFA)
Course Description: This two-day course provides focused topics from the marine/fishing industry for those who are expected to provide first aid in a marine environment. Meeting the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008 E, participants will attain scenario-based training to prepare for unique situations that may occur while at sea.
Intended Audience: Everyone over the age of 13 and anyone that is expected to provide first aid in a marine environment.
Course Prerequisites: None. A student does not require a CDN in order to participate in a MBFA course.
What's a CDN number?
A Candidate Document Number (CDN) is a unique number given to an individual by Transport Canada to assist with record keeping and document identification. This will be a requirement prior to your Seafarers Medical Examination and important if you are working towards a certain Certificate of Competency.

Course duration (time/days): 16 hours in-class (2 days); includes CPR Level A, Level C and AED
Certification: 3-year certification in Standard First Aid, CPR Level C, and AED
NOTE:
Recertification of Marine First Aid is not permitted under federal regulations
